A New Identity for our Learning & Leadership Programmes

26 May, 2026/in Insights

Introducing STRATA, MERIDIAN, KEYSTONE and MANTLE

We have some exciting news to share! At Hillbreak, we are constantly evolving our approach to stay ahead of the fast-moving landscape of responsible, sustainable and impact investing. To reflect that journey, we’ve completely modernised the names and visual identities of our premier learning and leadership programmes.

While our look has levelled up, our core values and approach to actionable and insightful learning haven’t changed a bit. The same exceptional quality, deep engagement, and transformative learning impact you’ve come to expect from us remain strictly at the heart of everything we do. We’ve simply given our programmes a sharper, more contemporary identity to match the forward-thinking nature of our mission and content.

You’ll find key updates for each programme below, including some exciting future developments to look out for.

Courses Now Open for Booking!

Registration is officially open for the next cohorts of two of our flagship programmes, with discounts available for early movers and group bookings. If you’re ready to sharpen your edge, there’s no better time to secure your spot:

  • Early Bird Rates: Act fast to lock in the best possible pricing.
  • Group Booking Discounts: Elevate your whole team’s capabilities and save when you register together.

STRATA is the new name for our popular and much-loved Real Estate Fundamentals programme.

The name STRATA reflects the programme’s focus on uncovering and demystifying the various layers of the real estate capital stack and value chain.

Designed specifically for real estate ESG, sustainability and impact professionals – but also highly relevant to non-surveyors working in the property industry – our three-part STRATA Foundations course demystifies the complexities of real estate, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to engage with and support investment, finance, asset management and development stakeholders more effectively.

Our next cohort kicks off on 25 June and is already well subscribed, so there are only a few places remaining. Our early bird rate still applies until the end of May though, so sign-up now to take advantage of that.

Book your early bird spot on STRATA Foundations today!

Stay tuned for…
We will soon be launching STRATA Extensions a short series of highly focused sessions exclusively for alumni of STRATA Foundations (including those who’ve attended our previous Real Estate Fundamentals courses). These highly interactive sessions will provide the opportunity for refresher and deeper-dive learning on Investment Strategies, Demystifying Valuations, Investment Modelling & Metrics, and Investment Decision Making.

MERIDIAN is the new name for our successor programme to the former BBP ESG Training for Real Estate Professionals, focused on integrating ESG and sustainability into direct real estate investment.

The name MERIDIAN reflects the programme’s focus on following the line of ESG and sustainability integration across the whole of the direct real estate investment process, from strategy and capital sourcing, through capital deployment, asset management, to exit.

This course is specifically designed for those working in direct real estate investment and asset management, including advisers and agents . The full list of eligible roles is listed on the course booking page (link below). MERIDIAN is uniquely endorsed and supported by the Better Buildings Partnership (BBP), and we are pleased to offer colleagues from BBP member organisations discounted places on the course.

Our next cohort kicks off on 17 June with early bird rates available until the end of May and group discounts for five places or more.

KEYSTONE is the new name for our Investment Committee ESG Programme, which we tailor to different asset classes and strategies whilst drawing upon client-specific portfolio characteristics to ensure high relevance to participants.

The name KEYSTONE comes from the wedge-shaped stone at the apex of an arch. Without it, the whole structure (of the investment) collapses. It places the Investment Committee at the literal centre of structural integrity.

Emulating the format of IC meetings – and with expert insight, facilitation and challenge provided by Hillbreak – these customised, scenario-based sessions provide the opportunity for ICs to explore the implications of ESG and sustainability factors and how to address them in a strategic and transactional context. It enables IC members to hone their skills using realistic example deals, before capital is put at risk on real ones.

This programme is tailored for individual clients so isn’t available for open booking by individual participants. If you’d like to arrange KEYSTONE training for your Investment Committee, get in touch for a scoping call.

MANTLE is on its way!

Following on from our unique State of the Sustainability Professional survey and webinar discussion, we’re busy in the final stages of planning a brand new community-based programme to support sustainability professionals in real estate markets to reach their leadership and influence potential. Led by experienced leadership coaches and renowned industry leaders in responsible investing, the programme will also help participants explore and implement strategies for improved personal resilience and wellbeing, whilst also keeping them on top of their knowledge game.

The name MANTLE is inspired by the sense of needing to provide an enveloping layer of support, protection and insulation for sustainability professionals from the pressures and stresses of today’s volatile and uncertain world for sustainable investing.

Stay tuned for further updates, and add yourself or a colleague to the programme register of interest.

Don’t forget, we are available for the design, curation and delivery of bespoke client learning programmes on ESG, sustainability and impact across the real asset sectors, including in-person and remote live teaching, as well sophisticate digital programmes.
Examples of recent programmes we’ve delivered include:

  • Up-skilling portfolio and regional investment teams of an indirect real estate manager on the use of the IIGCC Net Zero Investment Framework 2.0.
  • Training an LGPS asset owner real estate investment team on analysing GRESB benchmarks and data to drive prioritised engagement with third party managers.
  • A bespoke, world-wide digital learning programme on sustainable value creation for a major property company.
  • Ongoing delivery of a quarterly training programme for the whole property team of a UK asset management organisation.
