Sustainability Strategy for Mountfield Park – a new garden suburb for Canterbury

Hillbreak has recently prepared a comprehensive Sustainability Strategy for “Mountfield Park”, a proposed new garden suburb of Canterbury, for which an application for planning permission has been submitted by Corinthian Land.

The proposed development comprises 4,000 new homes, 70,000 sqm of employment floorspace, two primary schools, extensive areas of woodland and open space, a reserve site for the Kent & Canterbury Hospital, and a community hub to include health services, local shops and community facilities. It includes proposals for a package of measures to promote sustainable travel including a new junction on the A2 near Bridge, an enlarged Park & Ride with 1,000 spaces, provision for fast bus travel to the city centre, and a network of pedestrian and cycle connections.

We are proud to have worked closely with our client, Corinthian Land, master planners, David Lock Associates and a multi-disciplinary team of technical professionals.
