Andy Yates

Advisory Board

As Chief Investment Officer for Grosvenor’s Diversified Property Investments team, Andy’s role is focused on identifying best-in-class operating partners, with smart and ambitious business models, and then using Grosvenor’s capital to help realise their goals and plans. Having been with the team for over ten years, he has been central to shaping the growth of the business; from a standing start, around £1bn has been invested and there are ambitious plans for further expansion.

During that time, 23 partners have been backed across 35 ventures, in sectors such as industrial & logistics, student housing, workforce & affordable housing, medical offices and more recently, the traditional office sector. With ventures in the UK, Spain, Poland, Australia, US, Brazil and India, the role has given Andy insight into many markets and the chance to work with a truly diverse group of people. Despite the wide remit, each deal and team have in common the need to address the sustainability challenges embedded within the built environment.

In his role on the Hillbreak Advisory Board, Andy brings strong insight and expertise on investment and financial market fundamentals and the dynamics of sustainability in that context. He challenges us on making sure that our team treads the line carefully between sustainability ambition and commercial pragmatism, helping to shape our programme ideas so that they remain properly tuned in to evolving market conditions.

Prior to joining Grosvenor, Andy worked within the Real Estate corporate finance team at Deloitte for 7 years, where he had the opportunity to meet and work with several members of the Hillbreak leadership team. Before that, he worked at GE Real Estate, EY and Arthur Andersen.
