Graham is a BREEAM AP qualified sustainability consultant with an engineering background with over 8 years experience of providing sustainability services for planning submissions, through to final certification. The engineering experience has given Graham a deep understanding of the construction process and is combined with a full understanding of the cost-effective credits within BREEAM, enabling him to consistently deliver beyond client expectations. This has been clearly demonstrated with many projects successfully delivering on stringent targets and 2 projects successfully winning BREEAM Awards.
Graham is used to working on high profile projects having acted as Sustainability Champion for Advantage West Midlands on the £240million redevelopment of Birmingham New Street station and being BREEAM Assessor on the new Media City UK in Salford. Furthermore, as Sustainability Advisor at the regional level with all 9 of the Regional Development Agencies to guide them through the government’s recent consultations on Heat and Energy Saving Strategy (HESS), Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) and Carbon Emission Reduction Target (CERT). He also has international experience working at the Vietnam Green Building Council where he identified the key issues for incorporation in their new national assessment scheme (Lotus).
In Manchester, Graham has significant experience of successful planning applications and has guided many project teams through the local sustainability planning issues. Examples include projects for W Luxury Hotels, a multi-tower development of offices and apartments at Greengate and several projects for the University of Manchester.
